Finished my son's Murray Hard Drive today. Been working on it for a while. Originally bought for $100. We put all new wheels and tires, motor and new hardware on it. Painted everything. New torque converter.

Pic 2.

here's another pic.

One more.

I found a before redo pic. This is after I bought it. Rusty, dirty, no engine. Terrible wheels and tires. Seized bearings.

My father-in-law used to sell and repair Murray's. I have two of those rear ends that I'd like to use one day. One still have the original shocks.

Well it wasn't quite finished. I found somebody 140 miles away that had a roll cage sitting in their shed. I was able to buy it from him. Now I just have to paint it and bolt it on. Been looking for a roll cage for a long time.

Sure is purty. I like how you wrapped a portion of the frame in header tape to protect it from exhaust heat and soot.

I'm no fan of roll cages because they're usually quite dorky looking but the one you found is rather fetching. Good score.

It's almost impossible to find Murray parts. I put a new engine on, made my own motor risers and put on a new torque converter because my jack shaft was missing. I bought parts from go power sports, BMI, etc... Just google go kart parts.

Cleaned, sanded and painted the new roll cage. Put it on with new hardware and the lap belt.

New lap belt that came with the cage.
