Howdy folks! I've been looking to build a go kart for myself, and I have a 500cc 2 stroke rotax engine at home that deserves to be used! I've been scraping the internet for proper manual transmissions that could handle the power of an engine that size. I've discarted the peerless 700 because it seems to be made for smaller engines. I was thinking about a transmission comming from a Yamaha Banshee, but I'm wondering if there are cheap but reliable transmissions for 500cc go karts.

Thanks in advance!

All the rotax engines i seen were in snowmobiles

I pity you...

the BEST rotax engine I've seen was in a Suzuki RGV 250 (two stroke bee... love it)
and later in the Aprilia RS250 (same thing basically..)

64horses on something that feels like a bicycle..
love it :D

Oh also.. Rotax makes some nice kart engines (I have a few 100cc rotax kart engines myself)

But true.. main Rotax market in the US is likely snowmobiles ...

But really if you see a RGV250 for sale anywhere close.. ask for a testdrive... like a rubber band :D
