I named this thread I finally got the kids a gokart, but it could have been easily named "How to tick off you're live in girlfriend but make sure her 5 daughters will at least take care of you when you're far too old to be useful any more to any one".
Me and the oldest girl (16) went out and bought a kind of good mish mash of parts on what seems to be a Murray frame. The 8 hp ohv Briggs runs great and it has a hydraulic disk brake, solid frame (not bent anywhere and no rust) adjustable seat. That's the good. The bad I will need to redo the 4 wheel hubs and get matching rims, the 4 on there now are kind of a mess. Need to make seat cushions as the ones on there now are gone, and I will replace the rear axle because I just don't like it and of course paint it and add a tav2 clone kit. It runs really really well clocked it doing 38 down the road on what look like 16" tires.
The youngest (8) was the first to ride it, in 3 laps around the yard she was sliding it around like a pro. Had to make her slow down. She had a smile that reached all the way around her face, I never saw one so big. The next one (10) was all business with a serious look on her face but hugged the heck out of me when she got off of it. The next one (11) would not go near it and would not ride it, but she did thank me for it. She is getting tested for aspburgers syndrome and autism this Friday, finally.
The next and last one, the 16 year old, after almost hitting my car took off in it. That kid rarely smiles but she was giggling and laughing her but off the whole time! The 13 year old boy will probably never see any seat time. His attitude and grades stink, if they improve then we'll talk. By the way anyone ever see a centrifugal clutch that will not work and slips unless it has oil on it? When oiled up it works great! Figure that one out folks, I've never even heard of that before but now have seen it. Since I do not have a camera at all you will have to wait for pictures.

Yea, Raquel seemed kind of mad at first but then I think she noticed something, the kids were no longer in her hair but were now in mine. :censored:

The one thing i always tell female drivers is to tie their hair and keepit tucked in shirt.
Depending on length and motor location a clutch and chain will have no mercy ripping a chunk off.

The "Safety Talk" is the first thing I do with them no matter what we are doing. I don't want to have to explain to mom how I accidently broke her kids!

Ordered a tav2 set up today from Bulletlines. Tried to order a seat cover from BMI but they must not like me or something because they would not accept my order. :mad2: It turns out the kart is a Kartco but I'm not sure of the model yet. I'm also working on getting a camera but I will need some of you geniuses to help me figure out how to work it and post pictures because I'm computer illiterate.

You just save the pictures to your computer. Then when you are going to type a response scroll down and there should be a button saying "manage attachments". Click on it then go to choose file and choose the pics you want. Hit upload and then hit submit reply. I think Fabroman made a sticky on how to post pics. Probably be more explanatory.

Close but, there's a step or two missing...

First, click the "Post Reply" button on the bottom left of the page, it doesn't work with the "Quick Reply" option...

Second, once you've selected your pics & hit the "upload" button wait for the window to process before closing it; you will be cued when to close the upload window...

No, I didn't create the thread, Robert did, I simply refer to it...

Well I ordered spindles, hubs, 4 tires, bearings and a mechanical disc brake kit today. Just enough junk to get me thinking about working on it. :wai:

Glad to hear the kids are enjoying it. Who doesn't have a camera? Every tablet, cell phone etc has one nowadays. Thankfully I was young dumb and stupid before every Tom, dick and Harry were right there capturing your every move and ready to post it on social media. Anyhow, the good thing about technology is that if you don't know how to work it even your youngest child is right there ready to teach you

The kids faces are always worth a little trouble from the Mrs. She'll get over it. Who knows. Get her on it and she may grin ear to ear.
