Finally got the kart running. just fine tuning some stuff and have run into 3 "speed bumps" but its still very usable.

1. As seen in picture 1 and 3. The kart has a live rear axle but it is 1wd. One side has a key way and all (not showed). I really would like it to be 2wd. I hope the pictures show the problem. The tire that doesn't spin even has a oil hole. Could it possibly be the hub?

2. What is up with this sucky brake system as seen in 1 and 3. It kills tires and sucks. What can I do about this?

3. The brakes mostly annoy me because they block me from larger tires. Those tires are 4.10-3.50 6. What is one size up from this?

Thanks everybody. Can add pictures as needed!:auto:

1. There's a hub on every wheel, it depends what type of hub it is. If it's a keyed hub, you're good, If not you'll need to get one that is.

2. Scrub brakes are the bottom rung of the ladder; the simplest, cheapest way of stopping a kart. Cut 'em off & get yourself a rear hydraulic disc setup from a motorbike. There's a bit of fabrication work involved in attaching it but, you'll be glad you did.

3. Once they're gone you can do whatever you like but, to answer your question, I believe the next size up is 13"

I took it apart and completely understand now. Rim is just the 3 bolt pattern. I cant believe the guy before me did this setup. Ill order a new one once I measure.

Question resolved thank you.
