FG Sportsline 07" - Engine Swap

As the title says , il be doing an engine swap for my FG Sportsline 2007 RC Car .

The car itself is 1:5 scale , controllable to around 300 meters , and goes 100km/h + at full tilt .

The reason for the swap is that i am selling the car , and the stock engine on it ( Zenoah G230RC , 23cc around 3-3.5HP , 16500RPM ) is giving me trouble , and i just dont have the resources / time / nerves to go thru it ... maybe on summer or something when i have time ...

Il be replacing it with a Chong Yang 26cc motor , rated at close to 5HP ( ported , venturi intake , custom exhaust , around 18000 RPM ) , which i used alot less , and even tho it doesnt sound like it , its of better build quality . Also replacing the stock spark plug with a Denso Iridium IUF22 , and replacing the clutch .

With the stock engine it was 800$ ...

With the tuned engine around 900$

It was nice to drive while the economy was somewhat working ...

Well .... too much compression for the pull-start ... so i had to improvise

Pic of the new venturi intake , the previous video was with a prostock airbox.. the engine loves it a lot .. and a little story ...

As i was working on the car ... i noticed alot of stuff was not how its supposed to be ...

So got it running .. it was running ok for about 2 hours , then it shuts off for no reason ...

For 3 days i tried to make it work ... NOTING.

So i had completely rebuilt the engine , carburetor and engine mount .

First i took apart the whole engine and the 23cc that was on previously .
The screws were goners and so was the engine casing , which joins the engine and chassis . So i replaced that . Then noticed the coil was cracked ... replaced that too , and gapped the coil to the correct distance .

Tried to start it again .. nothing . Soo i rebuilt the carb with new membranes and completely cleaned it .

Nothing again ... back to opening the engine and checking the timing ..

And in all that mess i found a sparkplug laying around , and even tho it did have spark on the Denso one , i got a feeling it was the cause ... i replaced it and it roars to life ..

Had to tune the carb since the venturi allows ALOT more air to get in , so a bit richer on both the H and L needles .. runs perfect .

I have a cheap 40cc engine.. besides the carb being pretty crappy the engine is actually not all that bad. the sleeve inside is actually honed pretty well [its pretty much brand new]

still can't figure out how to attach anything to the output shaft to use it for stuff while still being able to start it.

Is it a tapered shaft ? If so , you can get clutch kits for it . Something similar to the above pictures .

no the shaft is straight with some threading at the end. I could not for the life of me find a pulley to attach to the arbor size.

[yes this is the same motor I was going to attach to my tablesaw before I got the lawn mower...]
