Yes, most additions to a go kart frame involve welding. Only use zip ties
( Major bush league ) if you are attaching plywood, or perhaps something fabricated from balsa wood. Then at least you would be consistent, with both the zips and the wood being in the same league. Maybe you could even add a potted plant to keep the bush theme front and center.

I am a Sergeant Major in the Bush League, BTW. Hypothetically speaking, if one desires an appendage on say, a go kart, that is not structural but merely intended to "fend off" water or mud splashed from rotating tires, said appendage could certainly be held in place by fasteners designed to "give way" in the event of impact with a solid object. Plastic fenders and fasteners would seem to be an ideal solution for such a hypothetical situation.

If it was just mud, I would, but me and my get slammed by those spurs. Gonna experiment this weekend with some rigging before I go buy a welder.

I really want to know where in the heck do you ride? Are you making up your own trails or what? A video would be nice.
TLDR Summary: no existing trails near me I have access to. Only a private lot and on the top bank of a bayou near me.
Pretty much. Live in a Houston suburb, and the only off road area I have access to legally and safely is along a bayou (think a ditch or creek if you're not familiar with the term) near our neighborhood. No one rides back there other than maybe on a bicycle, and that usually is people just cutting through. Plus, we have been getting a lot of rain these past few months so the county cannot keep up with the growth, and yeah. There is an empty private lot of a few acres nearby but it rarely gets mowed, and when it does it is usually mowed a few feet from the curb. I don't ride that one too often because I have no clue about the owners and it is in a nicer and wealthier Karen filled subdivision that calls the cops then posts on in the neighborhood FB groups about calling instead of just talking to people. The cops around here can be a real dice roll on how they engage with people. I am legally allowed to ride my go kart on the street since I have a visible safety flag, and since I'm not traveling on a roadway exceeding 30mph. There are plenty of people and LEOs that don't know this and will get very aggressive about it. Outside of work, I either will just troll them too much or lose complete patience with them once they ignore the golden rule of treat others how you want to be treated.
