Fenders...not the guitars.

Need help brainstorming how to create fenders or at least a brush guard for the front of my Manco 706b. The shape and design does not allow for just a straight piece of sheet metal or plywood. Hell, can't even really use fabric as a guard. The way the front rounds up eliminates a lot of my design ideas.

Thinking I might just have to install a windshield and bare with all the debris hitting my legs and chest.

Well let me get my Kodak 35mm, take some pics. Go to flashphoto and drop off the film. Wait a few days to pick it up. Then I'll scan it into my Dell 386. Hope I get a good dial up connection and pray the wife doesn't pick up the phone to call her friend. I'll have those pics up in about a week.

Well let me get my Kodak 35mm, take some pics. Go to flashphoto and drop off the film. Wait a few days to pick it up. Then I'll scan it into my Dell 386. Hope I get a good dial up connection and pray the wife doesn't pick up the phone to call her friend. I'll have those pics up in about a week.

I only have a Kodak Instamatic 110 that nobody makes flash bulbs or film for.

I have that same kart. I don't run fenders, but I don't know where you drive. Looks like it would be very easy to mount a mini bike style fender or something similar, onto an outrigger ( metal rod ) and just weld it to the upper front frame rail. Looks pretty simple actually. Don't use plywood. That's really bush league.

Have u thought about getting some tight chicken wire? Then forming it to your liking on your machine. Then get a fiber glass an resin kit an make your own.

Be on the look out for discarded TV's on the side of the road. They are an amazing resource of plastic components.

Didn't make time to go jack with it this weekend but here are the stolen pics from the other thread. I doubt mine would be as clear with all the clutter in my garage lol. I will try to snag some from underneath to further explain and elaborate the issues.

I need to invest in an little welder and learn already, but that chicken wire idea is not a bad thought for the brush guard.

Really, its the front that has me baffled because of the swingarm and shock it would be hard to place something to prevent dirt, grass spurs, etc from pretty much getting mowed and thrown into passenger seats. Thinking I just shape and cut chicken mesh around the shock and swing arm to greatly reduce the bigger debris for the time being until I butcher with welding some new bars on to secure some sheet metal or something.

Looking at the 2nd an 3rd pic, looks like those fenders on e- bay would work. Hook them to that side bar.
