HI guys! I am glad I found this site. My sons and I unburied their old Path Winder go cart. We want to alter and reinforce it to make it a 1 seater, off road go cart. My neighbor gave us a 90 cc generic parts quad, ( I think it's a 2004 Kasea). When I'm able to upload pics I will. I guess I want to know if using the suspension from the quad is even doable? The go cart will be narrower, I am more concerned about making it taller with suspension. Has anyone here done this with similar donors? I am currently browsing the projects part of this site and I am loving the ideas! The more I look the more excited we are getting about the project. :) The biggest set back for me is my welding skill. I have been learning, so if I ever do post pics keep that in mind haha. Thanks for giving us a meeting place here!

I forgot... I would like to use the rear axle from the 4 wheeler. It is quite a bit shorter than the original go cart rear axle (I'll be taking measurements today). Would it be alright to use the shorter, stouter axle on a single person, swing arm style go cart?

Welcome to the forum.

The only reason you couldn't use the quad suspension is if it's underrated, meaning if the springs are not strong enough for the kart; you'd need to weigh both to make a determination.

It depends how much shorter the quad axle is. A wide axle gives a vehicle more stability to reduce the roll angle...

One more thing, please use the edit button as opposed to making multiple posts...
