Been creeping on the forum for the past two months and decided to register. My son is 5 now and outgrown his 12v gator and atv, so I was looking for something gas powered, and made the decision that we'd build a go-kart together, and his sisters can have the gators. Was originally going to be a simple design with no suspension, however I've had an old peg perego jeep sitting in my garage for over a year and he's always asked when I'll be done fixing it so he can drive it.... so along came franken-jeep.

I've previously built/restored/resto-modded two Austin Mini's and have another sitting in the garage waiting its turn, however I find with the kids/work/life I don't have the time to invest so building a kart lets me build something while spending time with the kids.

Neat looking project!
Please start a build log and post more pics. I'd like to see how you did the front suspension for sure.....
Your son is gonna love that......

Thanks. I was going to double a arms up front but wanted to try something different so I made independent swing arms up front with a pair of front shocks off of a banshee. If it works how I'm anticipating great! And if not I'll cut it off and try again.
