Hey guys I am selling all my mini bike frames ect, but I have a newish predator 212 that I am going to get running again. I want to put the motor in a beach cruiser bike to ride around the city and race my buddys 5 hp briggs motorized bike. I am debating whether to use a 212 or just buy a 66cc kit. I am a big guy and weigh over 200 lbs I am looking to hit at least 40 with enough torque to climb a steep hill. I figured a 10:1 ratio would work but am not sure, my last motorized bike was geared too high and felt gutless. I am also debating whether the sprocket adapter that goes on the spokes will hold up to a 6.5 hp motor. What do u guy think? thanks for the responses

I built a belt drive btr, 12 tooth on clutch, 15 tooth sprocket on jackshaft, 3 inch pulley on jackshaft and 22 inch sheave with the same engine u have and I had a top speed of 70

I am assuming that when you say 22" sheave, you mean pulley.

This will give you a gear ratio of about 9:1. Are you sure you went 70?

I was looking at the 66cc bike kits but cant ship them to CA for less than 220. Heres a pic of a bike I had a 2 hp briggs on . It had 5.4:1 gearing and I had to pedal pretty fast to feel the motor pulling. I was thinking maybe adding a jackshaft and keeping this same set up . Or making a in frame mount on a beach cruiser but dont think the sprocket setup in the 66cc bike kit will be strong enough for the 212 cc motor. What do u guys think? any experience with this or recommendations? thanks for the replies

I like the uni-strut rack. Should be able to tow a 5th wheel no prob. :):)

How abouts is the sprocket attached to the rear wheel? I think that there would be the major limiting factor for engine choice.

thanks :lolgoku: I welded a sprocket to the wheel hub on the trek.
The wheel is a little bent though would that be an issue? When I had the 2 hp briggs on it the chain never came off
