Here's the dilemma...............My Campark 4K HD 20MP setup came as a well-fitting group of parts, but not quite all the combo's I'd hoped for. There's the waterproof housing that I can mount up with a fitting it slides into, then hook up anything else I want.
Thing is, when in that housing, the internal mike is closed up with the camera, and you can't connect the external mic. The open frame for it has to be used for either mic, and the only thing that frame slides into is a big spring-loaded clip that has no attachment points that fit the other connectors. Has two internal thread inserts in it that are too large, have to take it to HD and find bolts to fit, rig up something that will connect up to the other connectors.
So now have that clip clipped onto a band I grommeted to fit my stahlhelms for a "helmet cam", and it can pick up the sound for the internal mic, and allows attachment of external.
Also actually have the camera in the waterproof housing right now and strapped to gokart frame looking down at CVT. Not going to get any sound that way, so I need to know about close talking, motor sounds, distant sounds, to decide best way to mic the "helmet cam".
Going to eventually do a full video of the kart, like about 15 minutes, fully edited, script on screen, music, all that. Getting good video shots and not getting any mic sound would make that mostly unusable.
