Okay this wasn't my idea, but, why not? Some are pretty obvious, some are obscure. What does your DIYGK screen name mean?

Since the fire's been started, I'll go first...

A bunch of years ago, when I was a pretty avid off-road enthusiast, me and a buddy had a 1988 Toyota 4Runner that we would "wheel" and then do write-ups about our experiences on our webpage. We were doing tips and tricks, tech articles, you name it. Toystory_4wd= Toyota Story, 4 Wheel Drive. It started out as my related email address, and my screen name on our webpage. I also used it on a big 4x4 forum.
Now, I pretty much use it for everything... Sorry, no Disney/Pixar stuff.

Well, my first name is Gary. I wanted something that represented me, but at the same time, wasn't being used by anyone else. So Garified came to be. even though everyone who reads it says Garfield instead. So basically people who know me by my online name call me Garfield instead of what it was intended to be.

My best friend in 5th grade decided to give the the nickname "Devino" so my AIM account became "devino246", because "devino" was already taken. AIM turned to email, email turned to forum name. Its been 6 years...

Mine is from the type car I drive. I have a 2004 Mach 1 with nitrous and it has a shaker hood on it. So one night I got on it pretty good and the torque causes the shaker to ...well shake so "shake this" was born.

Was at a friends house once and they were playing StarFox 64 when it was pretty new ('96 ish?). When Slippy Toad says: "I'm monkey food if I don't leave!" after taking too much damage, I said: "I'm monkey kibble if I don't leave!" And hence, the nickname of Kibble was born.

Mine came along probably 10 or so years ago, when at the age of 7, I learned to give up on the Pittsburgh Pirates. The Redsox were doing well and I really liked a few of their players, Nomar Garciapara (sp?) in particular. I started following them and this first surfaced as the base of my email account. 9 has been my baseball number for years, 5 was Garciapara's number, and 8, I forget its origin. It used to be redsox985 on AIM, but I forgot my password so just made a new one with the numbers flipped. Now, it's almost my universal user name. Hotmail, Droid X Forums, here, Photobucket, you name it. It was even my Xbox name for a while. I wouldn't mind a different name now, this isn't me too much anymore being that I don't follow them much, but I have it for too much to restart with a new name EVERYWHERE. It's easy for me to remember now and why change what works.

When I was akid, in the summer we'd sneak out late at night, run around and play knock knock ginge etc etc.. so of course being up to no good, we had "Codenames"
lmao..

I was fan of Link from legend of zelda.. somehow, Link turned into linx.. and i love cats, and in particular lynx's

the genisys came from im not too sure.. but I do recall spelling it that way using SYS as a referance to System.. something to do with puters and such.. so genetics and systems..

and for fun when re-installing windows or progs ec that would ask for a compan name, i would put "Geneticaly Hacked Hibryds"

when i made m very firs email, i ended up using Lynx_Genisys.. it eventualy got shortend to just Lnx_Gen for most places...

the opther name i USED to use alot was Lynium.

a name i came up with in jr high for a short story.. unique and all my own..

if you google it, everything you find is me.. except that dang company down in texas that im sure stole it from me.. (I was using hte naem looong before they were formed)

anyways, I named my kid that, so dont use it anymore cept in places i've already registerd as.. so far as i know, my kid is he only one in the wold with that name.. :D

cant wiat till i have a daughter some day.. got a good name for her too.. :D

Mine is pretty boring, but I work for a large forestry company in their mapping department, and the geographic data that we use is arranged in a sort of computer model that our software can recognise and display. We call it our Landuse model. It is a word I type a hundred times a day, so I though I might as well use it for all my usernames. Like everyone else here, I have now been using it for years.

Funny how these things stick to you.

Well, to put it simply. I got a big head.

Growing up I was called Block Head. At work for the past 15 years they call me Bighead. Or The Head.
