Exhaust Noise

On my Tecumseh 6.5 horse, if I put a pw-50 (dirtbike) exhaust will it make it louder or quieter?

the exhaust is made for a 50cc two stroke u have a maybe 200cc engine
this is a performace restricting exhaust
sure a two stoke will put out more exhaust but 4 times more i dout
if u want louder then make a staight pipe
if u want quieter then stick with stock
and if u want the look then go with an exhaust off a bigger bike, maybe a 250 road bike

No you are wrong, I race bikes...its not a 2 stroke and its I have a uncle that works a dirtbike shop...He said that would be a great exhaust.... I win!!

Lol well dude he prob knows bikes, not small engines designed for utility tools. So I think folwer wins.

According to Yamaha's web site, engine in question is 2 cycle.
Power will drop if used on a 6.5hp 4 cycle.

i know what a pw 50 is i had one a long time ago

also if it was a 4 stoke then that narrows your chances as 4 stokes will produce a bit less exhaust

but it is a two stoke

go ahead and do it i realy dont care

The thing is he does not know. I would not put this exhuast on my 6.5 if you paid me. Well maybe the front half.

Just try it. If it works then go for it. If it does not work just cut off the 2 stroke expansion chamber and use that. Also if it does not work. Then never listen to your uncle again.

If I was to bet you will lose power bigtime. Not to mention 10lbs that pipe will be.
