i have one more idea. get STRONG vice on it. put a pipe or rod and thing you can add to get alot of leverage and slowly push down on it while some else taps the bolt.

because the bolt broke while taking it out.

if it was so stuck that it snapped, a flathead screwdriver is much weaker.

add some heat and some penetrating lubricant like liquid wrench, then try the vicegrip. done this on a few electric motors and it works.

Try and get something like this:

These are great. Did it turn at all before it broke? If it did, tighten it first then use CRC or something similar. Then try and remove it. Has always worked for me.

Good luck.

Jeremy.

The stud extractor above (Rusty's idea) could work out well. You could also file or grind two flats on the remaining bit to give your vise grips a better grab. Be generous with the WD40, Fluid Film, or whatever you have. GENTLY heat the head material surrounding the bolt with a propane torch, while trying NOT to heat the bolt. This will allow the hole a little expansion around the bolt.

How tight did you have that thing horsed on??

I've actually flatten'd two sides on similar issues like this and just filed it down until the closest open-end wrench would fit on it. Spun right out.

Might want to give it a "gentle" tap with a "small" hammer in many places to try and loosen it up, otherwise the thingy that rusty suggested works wonders.

But no exhaust is much easier :p

That freeze and release stuff paired with penetrating fluid seems to be a good solution. Next time, support your heavy exhaust lol!
