Came across this totally by accident but I want one!

Anybody know where they're from? I'd like to license them as my official merchandise "by all our playsets and toys!"

Dang... That IS cool, isn't it? One of my (way too many) hobbies is scale modelling, I'd love to get my hands on a few and alter them. Do you have any idea what scale it is? I'd be changing out that rolling stock, too!

FYI- Common auto model scale is 1/24 or 1/25.

If you can find little tires in scale you could always make kart frames out of the scrap sprues that other model parts come on...

Ha, that's so cool! looks like an amex.

My mate got me this a few months ago...

FYI: I can't see a scale anywhere on the box but it's about 4 - 5" long

Absolutely! I haven't attempted this yet because 1)I have not found suitable wheels 2)Up until recently I didn't have a classic style kart to scale off, and 3)I have yet to see a suitable scale engine and don't know if I can make one that will look good enough.

I'd have to look for some very small spure, and/or stretch some, and/or buy some styrene rod. Scaled, I need it to be about 1mm diameter. Very delicate.

Here's my pitiful attempt at 1:18 scale. Solid copper wire soldered to brass. I took the wheels off of a Dollar store toy. The engine is way not right but I thought about stealing the compressor off that tank. Anyway, this was just a proof in concept

That's not a bad start at all... Love the engine! Cox? Looks like one'a the first glow engines, like they used to use on control line model planes.
