name this buggy
or more so what was it before the Chineze got hold of it

its SLX probably 600cc
3 cylinder single carb revs to 8k no worried
has a H pattern 4 speed trans axle with reverse and an open differential

it was purchased by a friend for $2.3k
from a police auction though pickles auction house

the police gather a pile of stuff though unclaimed stolen goods and confiscated items
they then sell them back to the public
so u have loads of second hand TVs and performance cars and so on

this buggy has no ID plates on it
so it was likely stolen at some point

it needs few parts like a carb reseal kit and cv seals

anyone know anything about these

it appears to be a copy of a suzuki alto engine
the first and second gen type
engine type F8B

iv got a thread in another forum asking for more product based help

a very common car over here is a holden barina its a rebranded suzuki cultus
theyre as common as dirt and a fair bit cheaper
they use a similar engine G10
if they fit for a F8B
then an engine swap might be in the books

a whole barina or that age costs around 1.2k
strip it, take seats engine and components associated
sell rest for parts or scrap
i know a car shell gets $200

throw a rebuild kit though it maybe
thatll be anouther few 100

if he spends 4.5k on it its still a cheap two seater
being as the next thing up is my buggy at 7k unbuilt
or a Can Am / polaris at 15k second hand

EDIT
oh and thanks sid
starting with your link and spending about 4 hrs following leads i got to this point

I'm not entirely sure, but it appears to be a huaihai engine, a gk32 or something.

similar engines (fuel injected or even turbocharged) are in numerous Karts, UTVS and other Buggies like the Roketa, Kazuma or Klung... all Huaihai engines.

spares can be found easily at aliexpress or klung-motor.com..

yea thats one step i used

huaihia carbs are for sale everywhere

unfortunatly thats about all
i think the world has moved on from carbs, even the Chinese
the the gk800 is now dohc and fuel injected

but it does beg the question
whats a whole new setup worth
and if we get a genuine suzuki engine
will their turbo kits work on it

i think some parts will cross over
and at least its a place to get a gear box

would like to see prices
their digital gauges would probably work on my buggy

i sent out an email
they also have chain drive diffs
some stuff may apply to gokarts
ill see if they reply
