I looked into the predator (if anyone is looking to modify them) Geoff at vegas karts was looking into them as well and found out the following:

We spent a solid month of R&D on them about a year ago when they came out. The carbs are setup for strict EPA standards and thus wouldnt give the engine enough fuel.

I torture tested one we had in a lifted cart and blew a rod out the side of it after days of trying to get it to rev past 5000 rpm.

Likewise, we made probably 50 dyno pulls and just werent impressed. They advertised 22hp but barely made 17hp.

Yeah quite a few times. Only thing I'm not a huge fan of, is their "It'll be fine", "testing purposes only" mind set. Pretty much ghetto rigged stuff together and hope for the best kind of thing. Not my cup of tea, rather do it right the first time.

I'm honestly waiting for them to build a kart from scratch, rather than their cheapo Craigslist finds.

I would get why some of you more experienced guys might not like them, but I'm a young guy and these are the guys who made me want to build my first kart. I feel like they speak to a broader audience than just the go kart maniacs. "It'll be fine" and "for testing purposes" (sometimes jokingly, sometimes not) are now two of my favorite phrases for when I'm in the garage.

My point is, I have yet to see them put a more permanent part or solution in after testing is done.

It's good to skip through the video because those guys just talk way too much and love to keep the camera bobbing and weaving all over--never a still frame.

That's a neat sounding engine though.

It didn't look ratty to me and I don't watch those clowns enough (seen bits & pieces of two videos now) to know if it is indeed a POS kart and/or if it's part of some inside joke.

That being said, that's exactly the kind of kart I'd use for that motor. Better yet a single seat yard kart but nothing more.

That thing still sounds wonderful and what amazing acceleration. I would make all effort to defeat those ridiculous wheelies though as they are undoubtedly ruining the front spindles. I wonder if a 3D manual clutch would be even better in the application?

Nope. They only make it for 3/4" shafts. Though it would be nice if they did.

I've watched some of there videos. Not too bad. I think there camera guy has new stable holder because there new videos seem smoother. Except all the go pro vids on there head. Yah they don't seem to be safe with anything. And half a$$ the builds. They video it better then I would or do.

They have stated in several videos that it's for "entertainment only, don't do what we do". If they were claiming to make how to videos it would be different, they know their stuff is cobbled together and they admit it. I find the videos to be entertaining and look forward to them on Mondays.

Thank you GoPowerSports

Well, I was speaking hypothetically and in the broader sense of whether it was feasible or not.

Thank you GoPowerSports

They certainly never fail to mention where they got their parts. Wonder what the kickback is like?

Do tell. Doug? Eric? What are the kickbacks like? LOL

I try to incorporate their catch phrases into my personal life.

Bob says to the Brunette....

"This is for testing purposes only! It'll be fine!"

they are good entertainment and thats what i watch it for. that said I more then once wanted to smash them over the head when with just a little knowledge they could have done much better. the whole deal with needing efi to get the turbo trike running right is just bs. I'e gotten motorcycles to run better on carbs then they did. the whole video on the blow off vavle was a joke too. why it never crossed there mind to stick a strong throttle return spring on the carb is beyond me.
watch it and laugh if you like just don't take what there doing as good advise.

Considering Isaac is a mechanic, you'd think he'd know better. Also that EFI kit is about $800. Only benefit would be, better characteristics for going up steep hills, without worrying about not getting enough fuel...least in rock crawlers and other trail vehicles.

Seems like they get free parts all the time to play with and try out. So i would say great kickbacks! Send me some free stuff and ill do videos!

I enjoy their videos, I've rode a homebuilt carb'd turbo bike all over 14 states in one summer (I quit counting after that) with no problems. It can work with a carb, but you'd better be well familiar with all the circuits and what they do.

Those guys have fun with go karts. Go karts are supposed to be fun, so they're hitting it right on the money IMO. No sense taking it too seriously.
