I was just innocently revisiting Letgo (because Craigslist is kind of coming up short lately) and 24 hrs ago I saw this Honda Odyssey 250 turn up in my search. I wasn't looking for anything in particular.

Ugh. It followed me home today!
SCORE!

LOVE IT!!

I just recently saw a set of them standing around..
a ST50 and an ST90 (we call them Dax around here)

Anyways.. I was amazed seeing that the st90 was considerably bigger than the st50 in all dimensions really..
And now I can't help but wonder if the CT70 is in a 50s frame or a 90s frame..
or which would surprise me even more has another in between frame size??

'sid

Thanks Sid! I've turned into Honda nut in the past couple of years, it's very satisfying bringing a 50 year machine back to life, hopefully it'll be running for another 50 year stretch. :2guns:

I believe the ST50 and CT70 are the same frame, just different engine size cc's. I read the ST50's came with a 49cc due to European laws or so they can be classified as Mopeds, something along those lines.

United States didn't the ST50, but there are ST90's around, but they are much less common than the CT70.

You lucky dog! :wai:

I still want one of these. I would gladly get rid of my two yard karts (hardly used anymore) and replace them with one Honda Oddy. Just don't see them for sale around my parts, well at least reasonably priced.

What are your plans for it? Make it runner with minimal work or complete teardown?

Hopefully you grace the forum with a thread on your progress :p

How much was it?
Does the engine run or what?
But DANG!! You lucky!
As for why Trevor calls it the Yerf Doge, I'm pretty sure it's some teen pop culture thing.
I don't really know, my family jokes that we're socially illiterate. :cornut:

Texan, et al,

You know, I was thinking the same thing. Thinking about putting my focus on this Ody/Oddy and sort of disregarding the go karts I have stashed away and maybe selling them off. This thing is kind of a Holy Grail in the motorsport hobby or at least in my own mind.

Now it's not the super duper FL350 or the later, exalted and more refined FL400 Honda Pilot, and that's fine by me. It's the 2nd generation with the full roll cage, headlight/taillight but no rear suspension except in the balloon tires (wheee!). Maybe it's the purist's Odyssey.

I bought it from a local guy who had brought it up from Florida. It's basically a corpse right now, in a deep slumber, but depending on the condition of the engine and transmission (which looks all there, a definite plus), it will be a rebuild and refurbish but not a total restore.
It's missing the starter rope right off the bat so I can't even attempt a start.

My goal is to make it look like a 36 year old Honda Odyssey that was used hard but well cared for (and preferably stored indoors)...:p
