This could get you in some serious trouble with the DOT. Why not buy a street legal dirtbike and use it's motor and all electrical hookups? They will probably register it as the bike.
Because I can afford a motorcycle, I can afford the gas, At my AGE and being a MALE, I can't afford the insurance. As far as I'm aware, there's no rules with reg. as a moped. than dropping a bigger engine into a moped being "illegal" I figure if I follow the road rules, don't do stupid ****. I shouldn't have a problem with local cops. Tags - Driving safely = Don't normally get in trouble. - plus Only will use the bigger engine -250cc- on small roads/private prop. and use the normal default 96cc for going back and forth to work. - max 65mph -
so the main issue is, having a motorcycle and its license and the insurance, I'm working in the grey area of the DOT's and local DMV's rules. not smart. but in till they make a law against upgrading a mopeds engine to a bigger one. I shall ride my "moped"! plus I might not go so big as a 250. maybe a 150. just to get at lease 80MPH.
I just think its BS they require insurance, and the insurance company charges you out the A$$ for something that your using to get around. its your risk's, and your hide. Even when you get in a crash or what not. they still don't PAY for everything. even tho you've been paying them for over 10 years! - mom was in car accident and got screwed by the insurance company. -if anything they should be cheaper, = less gas usage = less emissions. = eco friendly!
