engine wont pull after bearing install

ok so i pulled the rear axle out to put new bearings in, removed the motor for easier access, and now that its all back together everything runs but it will not pull, any suggestions?

good question and yes they are, the torque converter is spinning but not pulling the belt is the problem, we can get a little pull out of it but barely enough to move across the yard, it worked when we bought it all i did was change the axle bearings, im 235 pounds and i zipped around on it when we first got it now nothing

i think we have it now we oiled the shaft the "clutch" rides on and once it got worked in it was fine thx for the help

Ah! If you don't place the engine exactly where it was before, you may have too much slack in the TAV belt. I'm not too sure, but thats what it sounds like. Search for belt tension and you should find what the recommended slack is, but I remember a few posts stating 1/2-3/4" slack with engine off?? But I would wait for an expert to chime in, as I have not messed with them.

Hold on a second here. Unles the OP has a comet 40 series TC, there is NO SLACK in the belt that can be set. Comet 20 and 30 series TC have a backplate which predetermines the distance between the two parts of the TC. You need to know what TC you have, as well as your center to center distance. This determines what belt you buy.

I would strongly recommend giving your TC a clean, and only use the appropriate lube that is recommender. Have a look at these threads
