SO I am thinking about replacing my engine. Just to many issues I don't want to fix. I am currently running a Tecumseh HM100 and I would like to move to something that is more reliable and still 10 Hp. I am not sure about my clutch and what but I basically want to Just be able to take an engine out and throw an engine in without really modifying anything. I am looking for any recommendations for a replacement engine.

I'm thinking a Honda gx270 (or clones). I've had one and it's been SUPER reliable with no problems. although they are only 9hp I'm sure if you really wanted to have 10hp you could mod the exhaust and intake and get more power. I'm not sure if the bolt pattern is the same as your Tecumseh but I'm sure someone else on this forum can answer that.

Now, don't take my word for this, it's merely an assumption...

Being that all "small block" industrial engines (5-7hp) have the same bolt pattern, regardless of age or manufacturer, one would assume that all "big block" engines (9-13hp) also have the same bolt pattern...

Also, it would be an assumption to say that your engine has a 1" PTO shaft; please double check before purchasing a new engine to make sure the TC will fit the new engine...

You haven't filled in your location so, I'm unsure if suggesting a Predator engine is worthwhile... (hint, hint)
