So I’m having an issue with my predator 212. I have removed the governor, installed an aftermarket header, .040 main jet and aftermarket air filter. I had this same set up on my clone 196cc that came with the bike and it ran perfect. I didn’t think the few extra cc’s would make much of a difference but it’s seeming to be a different ball game. Anyone have any advice? I don’t know what else to try. If you needs pics or any extra info let me know!

P.S. my gas tank also has a vent, I thought maybe that was the issue but it’s not.

That might be a bit bigger than it needs... usually Ive seen about ~.037 or a bit less...

Ive just done a plug test and drilled up as needed..

Give it a little choke and see how it responds. If it cleans up, it needs more jet. If it gets worse, the opposite.

Ya.... I have to run my engine on the half-cock position of the choke so it runs right... But I dont care much... its fine for me now...

Ok morning update. I tried running the choke on off, 1/4, 2/4 and 3/4. No change in performance at all really. It’s worth noting I did start with a .038 jet but it gave me the same issue. The carburetor itself is stock with just the main jet replaced and a higher flow air filter. Could it be that it needs more air?
