Engine shaft and keys

I have finally have my frame and clutch and engine, pretty much ready to build.

Here the thing, I have a 6.5hp Honda clone with a 2 1/4 shaft x 3/4 id x 3/16 key

I ordered a 3/4id x 2 1/4 L x 3/16 key to make a 1inch adapter, for my tav 2 comet 30 clutch... Then I was thinking it will probably not work for the tav2, haven't got the piece yet, but thinking the tav 2 has a 1/4 key size.

1" shaft has a 1/4"keyway.

TAV2=3/16" key.. atleast mine is!

Mine is a 1/4 by what I measured today, and my engine bore is a 3/16, and its a tav2 with a inch bore id.

I have my adapter coming to.make my 3/4 bore on engine to a 1 inch, but the keyway are going to be of by 1/16

They make stepped keys.1/4"- 3/16" is certainly available. Go to your local bearing supplier, they will have it.

Ok thanks, sorry to sound stupid. But the 1 inch looks built to the tav2, so this means the bore I am making and is on my way should of been made 1/4? Sorry new to the cart builting
