I have a Carter live axel frame and am installing a Predator 212 on it. My issue is that either the mount needs to be built up (which I don’t have welding capability) or the engine has to be placed in the center and I have no idea how to connect it to the sprocket. I am brand new at this and am learning as I go. I have a $25 clutch (off Amazon) that I’m hoping to use. Advice please on how to set up the engine/sprocket/chain situation. Thanks!View attachment IMG_7952.jpegView attachment IMG_7953.jpeg

One of our friendly knowledgable tech support agents will be with you soon.
Posts made on Sundays take a little longer as we are operating with a skeleton crew.
Some of our crew are so old they are walking skeletons. The rest refuse to work sundays citing pay issues. So be patient someone will be with you eventually.

If you resize your pics to something less than 5 mb, you will get a nice little thumbnail thingy that will entice our staff to click on it, instead of that other thing. Our staff is attracted to bright shiny colorful things.

Your kart originally came with a Torque Converter, which is basically a continuously variable (automatic) transmission commonly called CVT or Torq-A-Verter (TAV). Yours is missing as is the Jackshaft Assembly. Don't you just love used karts? Always missing parts and stuff.

Here is a parts list manual that closely matches your kart. It might even be your exact kart. I see the word "...Bodies" written on what remains of the floor pan decal which most certainly spelled Hot Bodies (the model name of your kart) --- Is this manual (model 2435) the exact one you have? Not sure. https://www.bmikarts.com/PDF/Carter-Bros/2435/2435.pdf

It might be best to re-create the torque converter setup on the original kart. CVT/TAVs are best for off-road and large tires. The original I think is a 20 Series Torque Converter. Part number 83 "G704 Centrifugal Belt Clutch" turns up in several searches: https://www.gopowersports.com/ab-belt-clutch-3-4-bore-200182/

But if you just want to use a simple clutch and chain setup, I think you will need to mount the engine basically right next to the wheel where the jackshaft originally was. You may need a custom engine mount or maybe you can bolt something up that requires no welding?

What's the teeth count on the kart axle sprocket and the teeth count on the clutch's sprocket? Yes, you need to count each tooth if you don't know already. This crucial info.
