A 399 Rotax packs a lot of punch. If you're able to fabricate and the kart can handle it, you're in for a ride. Got any kart pics?

Dud just do what killdozer did. Check out these pics how he used the whole sled engine and clutch and frame.

This is a sick setup and mt all time DIY most liked sled mod....

Notice how is machined down the track drive? And cut the whole frame out of the sled and welded into the kart.

This setup style is as solid as you can get bar none. No belt problems and the engine and clutches are set up like there were made to.

I cannot say enough. This setup is just slick as can be. Can even use the sled brake for a parking brake. I would put the brake on the axle though if I was killdozer. If he breaks that chain he has no brakes.

Here's some pictures of what I have. Bighead that's a great idea. I'll be getting the whole sled with it so that will work perfect. Thanks for the quick responses.

I do recommend using as much as the sled mounting as you can. The alignment is critical or you'll burn through $30 belts every 20 minutes! On my kart, I used the snowmobile chain drive, with modification. I took the gear at the top of the drive and welded a 11T sprocket for a 520 chain right on the snowmobile drive sprocket. From there I used a 60T 520 sprocket on the 1" axle. Post a sled picture of the drive and we'll see what you have.
