Post a shot of the whole set up.... Drive and driven...including rear sprocket. I normally see /use the green spring, but you got a yellow one. I know something is telling me, "that's a no no... " , but I'm not seeing it.....

I would not be surprised if the spring is the issue. it didnt act funny until that was put in

I don't think that's the right spring. I don't think it its wound in the right direction. That might be a reversed spring..... Wouldn't work if it is.....
Look at the old spring. Is it wound up the same direction? Hold it next to the clutch, for visual comparison.....

i agree with jim, the button is riding on wrong side of bevel on driven, letting the clutch/belt open it all the way with little resistance, reverse wound spring? or installed incorrectly

Only way to tell 100% FORSURE is take the driven apart down to the spring and do the 'preload' process... if the spring is tightening when turned counter clock wise its the proper spring as far as the direction of the wind... if the spring 'loosens' when the preload is done counter clock wise, then you have the wrong spring for a 30 TAV. Spring wind direction and colors are kinda confusing to 'say' nonetheless, let alone figure out. Either way... your gonna have to take the Driven apart anyways...

This is the preload process w/ a normal/stock TAV2 (which it appears what you have)...

If you are going to go all out, go all out and use a 500 inch Caddy engine.
