Well had an interesting day yesterday.
We were out having fun on the karts then the 5hp briggs started to squeal really loud.
- This was caused by the clutch recoil. Gave it a shot of oil and good as new.
Then the engine wouldn't start later that day. We had Air, fuel, and spark.
- Cause of the no start was the flywheel key sheared and spun the flywheel on the shaft. Then the spark timing was incorrect.
Installed new key and good as new.
I just thought I'd post this to help anyone with the same issue.
Spark, fuel, air, and timing are the 1st things to start a diagnosis on a engine.
