Engine problems

i have a 5hp briggs an stratton go kart engine, i took it apart an removed the governor to make it go faster. at first it ran perfect but all of the sudden when i go to drive it will go fast but then i will be flooring it all the way an it will go extremely slow. but it barely has any gas in it so that may be the problem.

Try undoing the kill switch sometimes they short out when the kart is going fast due to vibration. But I put my money on the gas.
