Without a jackshaft, that sprocket will probably be way too small.
You have some nice engines there if they work well. I am not too sure what the shaft size is on the 10HP, but if it is 1", then your clutch is going to be expensive

That sprocket is a 36T. It probably comes from a jackshaft like rchez says. You are going to have to larger sprockets.

that new briggs is junk i have one its no good they run like crap if they run at all as for the other one it should be a good motor

The carb is from a 150cc scooter. The shaft of the 10hp is 1'' yes it is expensive. Ive taken the 10hp to the machine shop & they ported the engine also they opened up the lube hole a little to improve lubrication, honed it & cut the head oh & changed the cam. I just wanted some advice on improving hp & performance, i would like to know what sprocket you guys recomend. I was told i can improve alot the 6.5 engine. I have tested personally both engines & the run & work great. But im sure wondering if a torque belt system would help out. Thanks for all your comments & keep the coming.

That's a rather broad statement, isn't it? You have a particular engine which has possibly been mistreated, and/or ill-maintained, and/or just plain tired, and this makes ALL these engines garbage?
I don't think so.
To the OP- Depends on what you want to do. Personally, I'd use the flatty. Even though drive components are pricier in 1", it's much cooler- and more powerful, too! And to be fair, that 6.5 does look abused.

Well- sorry 'bout your luck, I guess. All I can say is that Briggs hasn't been in business for over 100 years by selling garbage. Personally, I've never met a bad Briggs. Some of higher quality and better componentry, sure- but garbage? No.
AND- Who changes oil every 2 weeks? If you actually do, I would suggest you're 1 in about 7 billion.
I installed one of these engines (new) on a buddy's snowblower about 5 years ago (which is how I inherited my H60!) I have had absolutely no reports of issues with it. It always starts in the dead of a cold, Canadian winter, and performs like a champ. 2 Pulls at most, even in 10-20* Fahrenheit. Maintenance on this engine consists of an annual oil change, and a plug cleaning and re-gap at the same time. On my advice, he always runs the carb dry. That engine will run through armageddon.

if i run it every day that 2 weeks ill change it but if i dont use it but once or twicw ill change it latter and i know briggs and stratonns are good but the new ones arent

I am glad you got some sort of thought out of that run on sentence toy story. I would call bs on the 2 week oil changes too. I have lots of lawn equipment that I change the oil on once a YEAR and only change the plug if it starts running poorly.
I too have had many many Briggs powered toys/equipment and I am more pleased with that engine than any other.
In fact, the only non Briggs engine I have ever owned is currently the Honda clone I have on my kart now, and if it ever acts up, it is getting a Briggs twin cylinder to replace it.
To each their own I guess, but a blanket statement like that needs proof to back it up, or I chalk it up to lack of actual maintenance or lack of small engine knowledge.

Actually (he says, blushing slightly), the absolute top of my favourite industrial engine list is the Honda GX series. That said, I stand by my comments.
