engine mounting

Hey,whats up.i need some help with mounting a weed eater engine to my 26’’ huffy nel lusso bike

Im going to mount it on either side of the luggage rack support,also it is friction drive,I would like to use the existing luggage rack to screw into or weld some sort of mounting onto it,I also would like it to pivot so I switch from engine power to me power.

looks like youll need to ditch the fender and i would use some sort of brake cable and lever to pull the lever connected to the engine down disconnecting the drive axle pardon my terrible drawing haha

lol nice drawing, im joking it looks fine. but my idea would be to figure out the shaft size and get a cent. clutch to fit it. then put the clutch drum on the back of the tire so it will idle without taking off but when you accelerate the clutch catches the drum and spins the tire, this would also work with it being you power because with a flip of the kill switch you could be pedaling and just spinning the the clutch drum

YOU CAN DO IT! I built mine from scratch, and it's way too heavy. Try to put the biggest sprocket/pulley as you can on the wheel. It will keep the weight low, and will allow smaller parts if you need a jackshaft. I had to have my clutch machined for two roller bearings. It ate the bronze bushing ASAP. Remember, the clutch was designed for a straight load, and you will be asking it to load a different direction.

Just think it out before you cut and weld. If you weld, tack before you cement it so you can always reverse your work..

Thanks!after looking at the illustrations i got an idea of where to put my mount,i originally wanted to screw the engine strait into the frame but after some adjusting i decided to put it farther back of the rack and secure it with home depot 4 inch long l brackets.after breaking 3 drill bits drilling everything to the size of the screws i had it is finally done.i am using a bungee cord and a old spring and the mount turned out to be pretty solid.i also decided not to put a clutch on it.ill just have to restart the engine every time i stop.And i also cant weld,but i am interested in learning.Thanks for the ideas!

Correct me if i'm wrong, I don't really know about clutches.
But as the tire spins, wouldent the clutch grab and spin the crankshaft, acting as a push start? I'm not really sure though!
