engine mounting plate

does anyone know how to make an engine mounting plate? i tried using a thin flat peice of thin metal, but it vibrates too much

how thick was this sheet, i would use like quarter inch thick plate and make sure to tighten down the bolts

it was like 2 mm's thick, the vibration of the engine when i hit top speeds made the bike into a portable massager

Use at least 3/16", 1/4 would be better.
I made a mounting plate myself by drilling two holes, then using a jigsaw and cutting out the extra steel to make a slot, then made 3 others.
Of course, if you have access to a fabrication shop, it's real easy using a hydraulic punch.

would putting 2 thick square tubing with allighned holes for the engine work as well?

I haven't mounted my engine on the cart I'm building but I had some angled metal from a generator I took apart about 3mm thick that I cut to size and made some slots in for the engine to mount on. I reinforced the bottoms of them with some pipe to prevent vibration. The mount is really not as long as it looks in the picture, I cut it shorter eventually.

i would say use thicker metal and a sheet of rubber betweeon then engine and mounting plate, even just some gasket material would cut down vibration tons
i did it on my go kart:]

I made one from 1/4, and I've bought one that used 1/8". With the price of steel, the 1/8 bought one was cheaper than the raw material price of the 1/4. Blew my mind.
