Hi. I'm new here and to go cart building. So I bought a Carter bros go cart, or what was left of it, off Craigslist. Everything was there basically except the motor. So I was given a Honda gx240 8 hp motor for free. I go to mount it and the current mount sets the engine way to far to the left. Its a torque converter (pulley system) that connects to a jackshaft that connects to a chain connects to the axle. Hope that wasn't confusing. I'm guessing I need some sort of adapter plate, system etc to mount the motor to the existing mounting plate that allows for the motor to slide more to the right so the drive shaft lines up with the driven pulley. I added a pic of the mounting area. This is a project for me and my 12 yr old so any insight into what I need to do to get this running is greatly appreciated, thanks!

That sucks, maybe not so stupid but over rambunctious. Rookie mistake. Well a new driven is on the way anyhow. But thanks for the honesty and insight...
