Since i removed the governor the 212cc predator engine idles wide open. also i don't have a throttle linkage yet if that matters. Was it okay that i left the internal governor arm intact? What happened was it had got kinda bent by the crankshaft so i just push it over out the way and it doesnt move unless you make it move

People on here are going to tell you to remove the flapper, but that's not what's causing it. Did the engine run fine, and this just happened right after you removed it? And how are you controlling the throttle now w/o proper linkage? Also, you might need to adjust the fuel mixture screw if your carb isn't a stupid EPA type one.

You need solid throttle linkage between the butterfly and a lever. There is a thread on here by bluethunder which shows a great simple throttle setup using stock components and a removed governor

Oh and remove the internal components. Please.

Well of course it does whatever it wants! You have no fixed link between your foot (or hand) and the throttle butterfly on the carb! Remove ALL internal and external governor components and fab up a new throttle linkage. ALL the info you need to do this properly is on this forum!

I watched the video. Your carb is still connected to the internal arm. REMOVE the internal arm, and connect your carb DIRECTLY to your pedal using whatever mechanism you choose. Check the Helpful Links sticky, under throttle hook-ups- there are some very good examples in there, including one of mine.

I'm still wonderin why you're going out of your way to make a new throttle set up. The Predaator comes with a bracket under the air filter which holds the throttle cable in place and has a great linkage (at least imo. What works for one doesn't work for all.). These engines are made for things like push blowers where a throttle cable just like the one in a go kart is used to control the speed of the fan.

I am just shooting in the dark here.....but he wants to bypass the governor, so the standard bracket you are talking about will probably not work

I've never had the motive to remove any of my governors, but I know how the throttle works. When you pull the lever towards you, the governor spring's tension increases, pulling harder on the governor arm which is connected just below the gas tank to the flapper mechanism in the crankcase. When the weights on the governor gear pull the spindle out with enough force to overcome the sprng's tension, it pushes on the flapper. Since the flapper is connected to the arm, it also forces on the rod which finally pushes the butterfly closed, stopping the engine from revving any higher. If he just pulled the gear out and cut the flapper off, there's be nothing to overcome the tension of the governor spring. It sounds complicated, but if you pull the fuel tank off any gx390 and play with the throttle arm, its easy to figure out.

That is a lit switch. In order to use it for your kill switch, you need to use the "Power" and "Acc" terminals. Run one to the engine's kill circuit, and the other one to ground. Doesn't matter which.
