when i removed the governor today i turned it on now it idles wide open even when its on turtle. I have a 6.5 predator engine. No throttle linkage yet. Also i left the internal arm in because the way i have it its not able to move so it wont bother the crankshaft. and also i left the governor arm attached

I've got a similar problem that I posted a day prior. My governor seems to be holding the throttle butterfly in the full open position no matter the position lever that is suppose to control the speed of the engine.

I haven't got any responses from anyone either.

Been trying to contact the company that sold me the motor, no response yet.

I wouldn't do that if I were you. The first thing they will say is "you just voided your warranty".

Is there a return spring on the throttle linkage? Can you close the throttle by hand? If the governor controls the throttle position & you remove it, the throttle linkage has no idea what to do. Put a spring on it to keep it closed & see what happens

on a stock engine with the governor you should notice the throttle being open when the engine is off. once the engine is started, the throttle will move to the proper position

And just the opposite is true without a governor.

OP. Do not run that engine wide open without using a spring to return throttle back to idle. You should be able to resolve the entire issue by either using a return spring on the throttle pedal, or on the carb, or by BOTH for safety sake.
Safety always comes before fun.

Literally, a spring that causes a mechanism to "return" to it's previous position. Case in point, the throttle. If you have no spring and step on the gas, and then take your foot off, the pedal will stay down. A return spring would pull the pedal back up, and pull the throttle back into the closed position.
