this is my second problem with my go cart. It's a 5HP Briggs & Stratton the carburetor is integrated into the gas tank. I've taken it apart cleaned it out reassemble it. It runs well as long as you baby the initial acceleration. If it's idling and you step on it it kills. There is only 2 adjustments, The idle and the air/fuel mixture. Not a small engine man so I'm not sure to do.

PS - it could be related to the centrifugal clutch being engaged early... so solving the of centripetal clutch problem might solve this to.

Torn gaskets? Spray some WD-40 around the carbuertor inlet, ect. If the RPM's change, you have yourself an air leak.

Could also be running lean.

If the motor is okay, and it ever runs again, do a plug chop and see if you need to lean (turn in) or richen (turn out) the screw on the carb.
