maybe the rings are worn? im not sure, but that is really strange.

do you have a warranty with harbor freight? they come with (i think) a 3 month warranty free. so if you didnt buy one on top of the 3 months, bring it back asap....

how did you know there was gas in the crankcase? you checked the oil and it seemed.. strange colored?

well i bought the cart off of craigslist and the engine was like 6 months old the guy said.and i check the oil almost everytime before i ride it but one day it was so hard to start my electric start couldnt even turn over the engine i had to pull the pull start with some force to get it to turn then it started after that i remembered to check the oil so i shut it off and unscrewed the oil cap and oil came gushing out but it was just oil it was like half oil half gas im good with engines i can tear one all the way apart and put it back together but im not good with carb functions i was thinking it could be somthing wrong with the needle and seat but im not sure.

Here's a question- when you put the kart away for the night, do you shut the fuel valve at the carb off, or leave it on?

My money's with Russ. Either the needle's not seating, or the float is shot.

It's always good policy to shut the fuel valve off when not is use. And certainly something you'd want to do while trying to fix the problem. If your oild is being diluted with fuel, you might just as well pour some sand in the crankcase for al the damage potential it has.

Had a Briggs that did that same thing, the float would stick on the side of the float bowl. The float had a little piece of flash on the side. When it ran compleatly out of gas, it would wedge itself in the open position.

i should probably check my 10hp tecumseh then.... once it flooded and locked up solid... once i drained it all out of the cyl, it ran, never thought it might be in the crank case all this time.

maybe its time to put that new briggs in my tractor lol.

Mounting an atv would require some welding and fabrication work. Where have you found a kart like that for $100?
