Hi I recently purchased a 13 HP Harbor Freight Greyhound Honda clone. The engine runs great on level ground but cuts in and out on bumpy ground. I know that it has a low oil sensor but I think I disabled that. I figured out that if you ground the black wire to the engine that it cuts the spark, so I cut the wire and let it hang freely. Their is also a brown and a yellow wire and I have no idea what they do. Could someone please tell me if I disabled the sensor or if i just did something else. Or could someone help me figure out what else would cause the engine to cut in and out while bouncing around.

I would say it might be that you're gas is bouncing around so much that it's not feeding into you're motor right...just a thought

If it were the gas how would you fix that (without going slower)? Also the sound that it makes sounds exactly the same when you turn off the engine, so I think it is loosing spark.

The oil sensor is whats cutting the engine when you hit a bump. the oil moves away, up, wherever it goes, away from the sensor. The sensor is there to prevent the engine from running when it realizes that you have too little oil. If you cut this wire, the sensor can't hit the kill on your engine and you will be able to drive it around turns, bumps, anything. As long as you change the oil as recommended, basically follow some common sense with maintenance, you will be fine without this.
