I am pretty new to go karts on the whole. It has been a project I have always wanted to do for a while. I have been researching for the past couple days trying to come up with engine clutch and sprocket combos.
So my question to all is what would be a good motor between 8-12hp?
How much do hp rating make a difference?
Are torque-a-verters worth the money? If so which one would you pick for your engine choice and why?
How much of a difference do the number of teeth make on a sprocket?
Basically what I want to do is make a little street cart with a nice little pull of accelleration and a good top speed. I want to know if that would be possible with the addition of a torque-a-verter?
Sorry for all the questions, but i live in the bahamas and once i order these parts and pay for them to be shipped it will be a done deal. So I am trying to get it right the first time.
