Hey I need to know if any of these engines will work on my go kart and which one you recommend. Or if there's another one I havn't posted please do share! I will be off-roading and going up some bigger hills. I also plan on selling this go kart next summer. I paid $160 for it.

I'm leaning towards the last one because its the cheapest with free shipping. But the guy who sold me the go kart said it could take up to a 12hp engine and that ones 13hp. The 7hp one sounds way to cheap for an engine.

***There is also a torque converter that I have no idea how to put on haha. I have a picture of it can someone tell me the max amount of HP it can go on. Im probably getting a 400cc 13 hp.

*** Also put pictures of the axle. How does the big gear connect to the axle so that it turns?

Thanks in advance! :biggrin5:

IMO the Hp "limit" the PO set wont be an issue. Does it have a torque converter or Centrifugal Clutch already on the frame?

The mounting holes might be different but I dont think that will be much of an issue

Oh yeah there is a torque converter thanks for reminding me! It's not on the frame its separate. So all three of those engines would work?

Harbour freight sells engines- 7hp (11hp I think) and 16hp. They are really cheap with coupons.

That appears to be an old comet or maxtorque. I don't think it would take any more than 8 or 9hp but I may be wrong.
