Engine bogs and shuts off on hill

My engine has been bogging and shutting off on this one hill with just me in it. The kart used to go right up it with 2 people no problem. Nothing has changed with the engine. I think its the clutch because when the engine gets bogged down and shuts off, the clutch gets stuck. To free it i have to tap it with a mallet. I have also noticed that the clutch needs to be cleaned very frequently for it to work properly. Its a 30 series. Any ideas?

10 sprocket 60 axle. 18 inch tires.

Yeah i just wasnt sure if the engine bogging and the clutch were related. I thought maybe if the engine cuts out under load the clutch gets stuck regardless of clutch health but i guess not.

Took apart clutch and noticed what im going to call the splines on the shaft of the clutch seem disformed (see photo). Would i be able to just replace that part instead of the whole clutch or is it likely other parts have been damaged?

That part will be like $20 with shipping.
A whole driver unit will be like $40.
A whole new 30 series will be like $60

Im guessing there is more damage on the other part. Can you not look and see?

The part that slides into seems to have no damage but there is some play with the pieces. Probably makes sense to buy a new driver if its only 20 bucks more.
