Engine and chassis identification

Any help is appreciated! I just picked up this kart and it needs some work...currently stripping it down and replacing all the bolts/nuts along with adding bodywork, seat, battery, etc. I saw that it was an IAME engine and started looking at images of reed valve engines but couldn't pinpoint a model (need to know for rebuilds and oil/fuel mixture)! Also, any info on the chassis would be appreciated...has an arrow looking logo on the rear cross bar but a chassis brand couldn't pinpoint a name, it's very sad they cut the original seat mounts.

Hm I'd say it's a Komet K77 perhaps, maybe K35? (the engine, not the chassis)

kart is tough.. could be anything at this point really..
birel, crg, tony ... can't tell
could you post a pic of that logo you talk about?

Really does look like a K35! Only thing that has me confused is that it has electric start...any info on how much power this engine makes and fuel mixture? Btw here's the pic of the logo and electric start

1:35 to 1:40 is a good start I'd say for the fuel mix..
power I'm guessing in the 13-16 horse range or such
if the engine sat for a very long time, a higher oil ratio
(say 1:25) is a good idea for the first few minutes of runtime..
you rather ruin your spark plug than your conrod bearing
under racing conditions as low oil as 1:50 isn't unheard of..
BUT since that's a rather old engine with likely unknown history,
I assume you want to expand it's lifetime for the low cost of two or three horses

that is a bad scratch not a logo in my book I'm afraid looks like the seat strut clamp slid
raw steel underneath just like the cut tab.. whoever cut that should've known what it's been for
(the seat strut most likely.. the one that slid and scratched the paint I guess )

elestart modules have been around since the mid sevententies IIRC.
So it'd still fit both the K77 and the K35
the starter motor should be on a bolt on mounting plate..

Don't judge the engine by it's head or cylinder fins alone btw..
that's a good first hint of course,
but most cylinder and heads are interchangeable amongst several iame brands
(you can run some parilla heads on Komet cylinders in a iame block)
go by the block instead!
you likely find a short mark somewhere on that block
(close to the output sprocket under that chain guard or near the lower cylinder part)
that's the most accurate information you can hope for

Hey Sid! Just got some info back from IAME and it turns out its an Easy Kart engine on a Birel R30C-Y. Pretty interesting...and if it's the 125cc it makes a lot of power (way more than my KT100). If it turns out to be the 100cc, it makes power around the KT100...none the less I'm glad it's relativity newer but not glad there's not really a class I can use it in around here since this engine is popular in Europe.

easy kart isn't even an engine it's a TAG setup
the sprocket guard looks rather new... but the engine.. I highly doubt that
I'd say that engine is at least 30years old and it's surely a 100cc
long before easy kart packs were a thing IIRC.
(easy kart means engine, intake, carb and exhaust packed and presetup for Touch and Go installation)

you sure you talked to iame??
not just some (lesser informed) reseller in the states?
(iame.it or iamekarting.com the two urls [one website] you can ask)
check the crankcase for markings and tell me what you found..

Birel R30C?? again.. I don't think so
the R30Cs have been four stroke karts as far as I remember
and the newer ones all have that weird bend in the steering column.

Meh... I'd say no to both claims tbh...

This is the exact kart I have. After looking into it, it looks like "Easykart" was a collaboration between IAME and Birel and I believe it was created to make a simple TAG class (more popular in Europe). The 100cc engine that I have here is believed to be based on another engine, however this particular engine was made in the early 2000s. All seems weird to me and I've never heard of it but I'm learning more about this funky kart. Also yup, talked to official IAME and they sent me the specs of the engine...all the specs are in italian :/

guess I learned something then
