Engine Advice Needed

Hey everyone,
I'm working on a Manco rebuild for my daughters. They are 10 and 6 years old with NO go kart experience.

The Robin Subaru doesn't seem worth rehabbing for the price of the Predators.

However, I'm torn at which direction to go...

Do I go big and let them grow into the kart or do I go safe for up and upgrade later?

I'm not sure what kind of speed to expect with each engine. I know the 212 will FLY on a kart so small/light!

Any suggestions/advice would be greatly appreciated!

Regardless of the outcome, I'm also looking for suggestions on clutch/chain drive system. Planning to go with centrifugal clutch.

Get the 212 and leave the throttle stop screw in the slow setting as it comes out of the box. You cvan adjust the screw for more throttle and totally remove it when they are ready. If an adult wants to ride it, the little 79 cc might not get moving in the grass.

Ive had 3 79cc's I've tried. Nope not even for a kid. Just not enough to move a kart. Maybe a little minibike with a little kid. But thats about all.
Do the 212 and use the throttle limit screw.

Show us the Manco. If it’s a two-passenger kart, the 79cc won’t have enough grunt, but for the simplest of karts, one rider style, the 79cc is “adequate”. Your daughters will grow with the kart, growing in stature and growing in confidence and wanting more power and speed. Nothing better than a young child that can confidently operate complicated powered vehicles and machinery. The most fun, perhaps, are the 5 year olds on the junior dirt bikes, clutching, shifting, anticipating hills, downshifting, braking and powering on like a machine. But I digress

Small V8 is always fun! All seriousness aside,
Is lower gearing benificial in this situation?
I'm askin cuz while in principal it would, but in the real world? The problem i guess would be the size of the axle sprocket!

I would assume lower gearing is absolutely necessary for every reason.
Keeps top speed down.
Add low end power while letting the engine run at a higher rpm and making closer to peak hp.

I still think an overvolted power wheel would smoke a 79.
