I have an RV leveling jack.
I want to wire it to a switch to control up and down, which obviously needs to be a reversing polarity set up.

I'm guessing A DPDT is what's needed.

Brain fart.

How do I wire to this switch?

Thanks.

ETA: Never mind. It goes like this:

Did you make that wiring diagram and are looking for confirmation? Or are those the instructions you need help with?

Where's Functional Artist? He's the guy that likes electric motors and stuff.

This thread might get more appropriate lovin' in the Electric Projects section.

EDIT: Nevermind LOL

just make sure the switch can take the motors amps.

A too small switch might weld shut due to the connection spark internally on higher amps.
that'd be unpleasant ;)

I hope you're right and it's big enough (rated high enough)
I can't tell from here of course.. if you have a good indicator for toggle switch ratings is usually the fuse that's in the circuit.
So if you have a 30A fuse the 18A switch might be a bit weak.. a 20A fuse or smaller and you should be fine.
