I’m wanting to take the motors from two electric wheelchairs and combine them into one wheelchair, making it a four-wheel drive. Has anyone ever done that and what, if any, problems did you have?

4wd wheelchair? You better add suspension and a Jeep badge and knobby tires. Then you can drive anywhere and be awesome doing it. I want to see that. You should make it for the 2019 build off.

Your worst problem is gonna be the front making them steer and drive at the same time.

What Joe said..
you need differential speeds on the left and right side on at least one axle
to make that work in a acceptable manner.

it's certainly possible with the right donor parts (i.e. with physical diffs in the axle)

But then again you will need to cut the axle open in order to make it steer in the first place anyways..
at which point it becomes a mechanical puzzle to solve.

We can't tell how good of a fabricator you are, so it'll be difficult to tell how good your chances are of succeeding with this.

But I guess we would all like to see that happening.
