Hey there guys, I'm new to the forum, but I think I'll be using it a bit since I'm planning a go kart build.

Anyway, to the question.

I was planning on using a Predator 212cc engine because it seems to be the top choice as it's affordable, decently powerful, and has good aftermarket support.

Anyway, I was wondering, would a standard electric supercharger kit make a significant increase in power, and more importantly, would it work at all?

Also, would a standard turbocharger kit work?

Thanks for reading!

Hello and welcome...

For the time, money(especially) and effort.... There is no real gain... If you add more air... Need more fuel... The carb can only keep up so much...

Turbos really need an EFI setup(there is a few kits made out there)...

In the end... If you want more power, mod the engine...
Want more than 20hp(to get there isn't cheap by a long shot)... Get a bigger engine...

Ditto itsid.

Complete carbage. On a broader note the size eletric motor you will require just to over come the drag created by a true super charger of sufficient volume will probably chew up most of your preditors hp to turn an altenator to supply it. Or alternatively how many hundred batteries were you going to fit.

As a reference a supercharged V8 of significant hp can loss 100hp just to the parasitic drag of supercharger unit itself

I've actually been thinking about this. (yeah the cells could not believe they were going to get to work on something finally.
Small turbo with boost controlled by EGT feedback, with an over fuel function if EGT goes too high.
Any boosters want to weigh in,,?
