Electric minibike

I have a mini bike that i made a while back, it had a Honda gx110 on it. And a faulty clutch on it, so i ripped the engine of and within 2 hours i had an electric mini bike that worked from old electric scooter parts. Now heres my problem, i need to make a system that controls the motor so it does not go full power straight away, and ideas how i can make something? I would have used the one from the scooter but thats how i got it, the box had blown

What is the battery held down with?

well i this picture its not, but now it has 2 car batteries and wired up so its 24v. i have been riding round my town on it today and noticed no change in the speed. but for now i have just got a heavy duty switch on it and have to be pushed to start off

The short answer to your question is NO, unless you're an electric engineer that can make complicated circuits and boards.
The good news is that Ive been looking into a VERY similar subject, here is what i can do to help (i hope).

All you'll really need from this is the very first picture that shows you the wiring/color scheme but also if you're still interested i believe its a tutorial of how to wire and make your own speed controller.

Google "Electric Speed Controller Box" and they are as cheap as 8 dollars if you dont mind Chinese parts, the throttle it self should be about the same price and just wire them together and you'll be riding around on your deathtrap in no time.

Using car batteries for this is not a very good idea. They aren't meant for deep cycle use and they'll likely die quickly. I would get some sealed lead acids or gell cells.

For the variable speed, take a look at TNC scooters. They have speed controllers in many voltages and wattages. Wiring them isn't very hard and they come with instructions. I would get a thumb throttle to go with it as well.
