I know you're not trying to just bother me ;)
Honestly, I think it's good that we have a different opinion on how to do things here.
:iagree:
If I understand you right, you wouldn't bother with that dusty pile of parts and just take the motor and attach a fresh controller.
Very fast and easy solution, but less fun and less to learn ;)
It's probably because of my job... I'm usually looking for the quickest way to get something up and running again, without having to worry about revisiting it shortly after because I skimped on a few parts. That mindset has carried over into my personal life as well. Trim the fat, make it efficient, and better than before I touched it! :wai: Not always cost effective, however
Thank you for your compliments, I do my best to help if I can,
I'm here to learn new stuff and share the little things I already know :D
well.. just like all of us I think.

Yep, just like all of us. I learn a lot here. The compliments are well deserved, btw ;)

Now I'm off to read more of the "STOMP Sid" thread

Sorry for the slight hijack... :backtotopic:

Hi
I decided to buy a new controller rather than trying to fix the old wiring. Where can i find one that will work with my motor. I have 3 12v batteries to connect to it but i dont have to use all of them.
Thanks!

Thanks! I ordered the controller you linked. It should be here sometime next week. Then i just need to find out how to wire it all. I can't wait to get this working. It going to be tons of fun.
Thanks again to everyone for your help!

Great;
let us know how it goes.

AFAIK the kellys come with a good wiring schematic, so it should be easy to sort things out.

Hi
I ordered the kelly controller and I'm in the process of wiring it. I was wondering if this throttle will work or if i need to buy another one.
I dont know where to connect the wires because there are so many spots.
Thanks for your help!

For a kart, you just need...
-Power source (batteries)
-Controller
-Throttle input to controller
-Overcurrent protection
-Disconnect switch
-Motor

Where would you fit the over-current protection in the circuit and how important is it to have this? I was thinking batteries -> switch -> throttle/controller -> current protection -> motor -> batteries

Is this about right?
