Oh, I thought series-wound generally meant an AC/DC motor lol.

I'm using the electromagnetic clutch for regen purposes I can modify that shaft... somehow

What would you recommend modifying/replacing to keep this safe for my uses? Thanks!

Advance the brush timing 3-7deg opposite direction of the motor direction

If you want power, then you must get another motor with a better shaft and around 6.7 inch diameter and prefer the one with 8x brushes, 2brushes per pole.
