What a blast it looks like you are having. How do you avoid all the killer snakes, huge Huntsman spiders and whatever else is creeping in that brush?!?!? :ROFLMAO:
I had someone ask me about snakes just the other day. Now the weather is warming up I might come across the odd one. I started gokarting at the start of winter and haven't seen any... or maybe I just thought they were sticks and ran them over....😆...😳

Snakes don't bother me, it's those damn Huntsman spiders I see videos of all the time. Those things are crazy!

I might come across golden orb or some other spider but no chance of faceplanting a Huntsman because they don't make webs.

Long time ago I did a stint on a cattle station, while riding horses we'd occasionally run through spider webs. The spiders usually just drop off because they don't like the jostling movement

The last time I tried to do a donut, the ground was too soft and I had too much grip on the back end...

Yesterday was better, harder ground, tires going bald...

How strict are you guys about the diy thing?

By the way, we’re not strict about that at all. I‘ve never thought about it, but the site’s name may seem really restrictive to some like yourself. Do you think we need a disclaimer on the site somewhere?

If you “cheated” and bought a factory new (or used) kart, I think you essentially become a DIY’er the second you put air in the tires yourself. I have not built my own kart from the ground up nor made any major modifications so I do sometimes get a twinge of guilt over it heh heh.

Hmm... not sure to be honest. I asked the question and was welcomed into the forum. I understand some people like to weld their fingernails together making it from scratch and the forum name has that vibe but a quick look around and you'll see a lot a brand karts (yerfdog, odyssey etc..).

For some people, the title might be a deterrent but the biggest factor IMO causing low traffic/interaction is forums in general is an Old Timer thing. Nowadays nobody wants to go through the effort of starting up and running a forum when they can just make a page on fb. I think that's this forum's biggest competition, sorry to say that but I think it's true.

I've seen a few FB groups or posts. Getting experienced answers from the peanut gallery is hard.
At least here we try to give real answers.
But maybe cause we're all old school here.

FB groups are fine and good at times, but this forum weeds out all the negative quick post comments and such. I'm apart of a bunch of FB groups, but this place gives you honest answers usually quick without all the BS comments and clout chasing. Maybe the DIY name keeps out all the FB shyt posters and if you want serious help you have to join. :cheers2:

I don't disagree the fb has a lot of numpty's. The problem is a lot of people buy a product and when they figure out one thing, they consider themselves as the GOAT and start dispensing misguided advice to others. AKA the blind leading the blind. I've seen particular products become popular due to people touting them and simply not knowing there are better quality products available on the market (as in its what they bought, therefore it's the good stuff).

We're at an information age but you still gotta do your own research, don't believe everything AI tells you.

I appreciate this forum doesn't conform to those attitudes, you guys a great 👍 👍 if only prospective members were more inclined to sign up and join a forum than a group on some other platform.
