Next I drilled 2 holes in the frame for the fuel tank bracket so that the "right arm" of the bracket sits on the angle-iron brace I just welded in, and bolted the bracket to the frame. (PIC 1).

I was going to do some sort of additional bracing to the top of the bracket (like where it was bolted to the top of the engine), but really it's very solid as is, so I installed the fuel tank. (PIC 2).

This arrangement still has the bottom of the fuel tank and it's outlet / cutoff valve up above the kart bottom and nicely protected from anything hitting it, and the fuel line runs straight out towards the rear of the kart, right beside the engine.

Which made me want to ditch my custom fuel pump brackets on the left side of the engine, and move it back over to the right side, screwing it to the housing just above where the original pump went. (PIC 3).

Oh, and a new starter clutch. Did you know that when one of those things fails, you can get an impressive amount of sparks shooting around inside the blower housing?

And right after I moved the fuel tank away from the starter to avoid a fire hazard...

Did you have to reroute the hoses complicatedly (?). Or was it pretty easy?

i havent read the thread because im feeling kind of lazy today, so i have no idea if you know this information, but its said to take a few decibels off of the exhaust sound if you point it downward
Yup, but I've got it turned sideways for now in case it decides to rain. Once I get ahold of a metal cover, I'll plug the hole on the other side and turn the outlet downwards. I don't know about the decibels, but as it is with the larger id pipe it's loud enough to hurt my ancient ears after awhile. :ack2: I needs me a cover!

Pretty easy, I ran the pump pulse hose back via the stock route, the carb hose under and right to the carb, and the fueltank hose up from the tank to the pump. I'll snap a pic and post the finished product.
